Known in the region as the City of Merchants, Dubai has for generations welcomed seafarers crossing the azure waters of the Arabian Gulf to its shores. It is now an east meets west phenomenon, a wealthy United Arab Emirates where white beaches, azure waters and endless desert stand cheek-to-cheek with skyscrapers, domed mosques, American style malls and back street ancient Souks and the quintessential home of sand, sea, sun and shopping.
